Purpose for the Position:

To prepare, season, and cook soups, meats, vegetables, desserts, and other food stuff for consumption in the restaurant.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Moves and arranges furniture.
  • Reads menu to estimate food requirements and orders food from supplier or procures it from storage.
  • Adjust thermostat controls to regulate temperature of ovens, boilers, grills, roasters, and steam kettles.
  • Measures and mixes ingredients according to recipes, using variety or kitchen utensils and equipment, such as blenders, mixers, grinders, slicers, and tenderizers, to prepare soups, salads, graves, desserts, sauces, and casseroles.
  • Bakes, roasts, broils and steam meats, fish, vegetables, and other foods.
  • Adds seasoning to food during mixing or cooking, according to personal judgment and experience.
  • Observes and tests food being cooked by tasting, smelling and piercing with a fork to determine that it is cooked.
  • Carves meat, portions food on serving plates, adds gravies, sauces, and garnishes servings to fill orders.
  • May supervise other cooks and kitchen employees.
  • May wash, peel, cut and shred vegetables and fruits to prepare them for use.
  • May butcher chickens, fish and shellfish.
  • May make bread, rolls, cakes, and pastry.
  • May price items on the menu.
  • All other duties as assigned by a manager or supervisor.


This position requires a hands-on approach (move, lift, carry, push, pull, and handle objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance). You will be on your feet and moving with purpose (stand, sit, or walk for an extended time).

The Hiring Bonus will be paid out as follows: Hiring bonus to be paid on the pay period following the 91st day of employment. To qualify for the hiring bonus, you must be a new team member. You must successfully complete each period of employment prior to receiving bonus – 30 days, 60 days, 90 days. The employee understands that any remainder of the bonus is forfeited if the employee is no longer in the position to which they are hired for, for any period not completed. The signing bonus is not part of the base salary calculation but is considered taxable income. The employee understands that any unpaid portion of the bonus is forfeited if the employee fails to report to work or is terminated.
