POSITION SUMMARY

A Line Cook is responsible for tasks that include cooking and preparing food items to perfection. This position requires a sense of urgency and adaptability. This individual represents Miller’s Ale House Restaurant by providing service that exhibits professionalism, attention to detail, and the desire to create a positive environment. They will work directly with other Team Members to ensure that the Guests’ visit exceeds their expectations.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS & KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

· Arrives to work on time as scheduled in full uniform

· Adheres to all service standards to indirectly create “Ale House Raving Fans”

· Ensures menu knowledge to address questions about the menu items (including food allergy issues)

· Follows recipes; upholds specs and perfect presentation of every dish and drives ticket times

· Works directly with all Team Members to ensure all Guests’ needs are fulfilled in a timely manner

· Communicates positively with FOH and BOH Team Members to ensure all Guest requests are accommodated

· Utilizes proper food handling and sanitation of work areas; ensures compliance with food handling requirements

· Supports other stations and areas of the BOH as needed

· Maintains a neat and organized work areas; to include sweeping and mopping as needed

· Notifies Management immediately of any potential problems, including long ticket times

SAFETY & SANITATION

· Washes hands every 30 minutes throughout the shift

· Wears and changes gloves between each task and often during the shift

· Maintains a clean and sanitized workstation throughout the shift

· Ensures all food is maintained at required temperature zones

· Adheres to proper stacking order, rotation, and labeling of food

· Adheres to cross-contamination and allergy standards

· Conducts a Quality Line Check daily of his/her station

TEAMWORK, SKILLS & EDUCATION

· Supports other stations and areas of the BOH as needed, ensuring that everything within the 4 walls of the restaurant is every Team Member’s responsibility

· Provides exceptional service throughout the entire shift and sets Team Members up for success when closing station as well as at shift change

· Positively communicates with other Team Members and Management to keep one another informed

· Ability to work independently as well as with a team

· Basic reading skills and strong communication skills; able to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment

· Must be able to handle high stress situations

· Must be a minimum of 18 years of age unless otherwise dictated by state law

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The Line Cook is expected to be able to perform the job functions with reasonable accommodation. Physical demands include:

· Remain standing for extended periods of time in a work area that has an elevated air temperature

· Reaching, bending, squatting, pushing, pulling and lifting, up to 50 lbs., for short distances

· Frequent communication with Managers and Team Members. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.

Pay: $19.00 - $20.00 per hour
