Schedule: Monday-Friday from 7:30am to 4:30pm

Location:
Langley AFB in the Women's Health Clinic
Pay rate: $26/hr
Sign-on Bonus: $1,250.00

Responsibilities:
  • Serves as a Practical Nurse performing patient care and nursing administrative duties for outpatients in accordance with established policies, procedures, protocols, and guidelines.
  • Monitors and records age appropriate physiological measurements.
  • Orients new patients to the clinic/hospital environment.
  • Assists with patient check-ins, admissions, discharges, and transfers as directed.
  • Provides individualized patient teaching on appropriate topics to include preventative healthcare and health maintenance.
  • Prepares and positions patients for diagnostic testing, examinations, treatments, and clinical procedures. Performs appropriate portions of medical examinations, treatment, diagnostic, and clinical procedures.
  • Records treatment, procedure rendered, and observed effects. Identifies and records patient problems and appropriately notifies provider/nursing Team of observations.
  • Prepares and administers medications in accordance with scope of practice and training. Recognizes and responds to emergencies and performs basic life support measures.
  • Performs appropriate portions of physical examinations including age appropriate physical measurements.
  • Adheres to infection control procedures including use of personal protective equipment, disposal of waste, and aseptic technique.
  • Ensures all equipment is properly assembled, operates, cleaned and stored at the end of each work shift.
  • Ensures preventative maintenance and routine cleaning are performed as directed.
  • Performs medical records reviews and applies appropriate protocols and guidelines to determine medical needs.
  • Maintains patient medical records in electronic format as well as hard copy as required.
  • Prepares and submits administrative reports.
  • Participates in training and continuing education programs for new procedures, techniques, and equipment.
  • Ensures a safe work environment and employee safe work habits.
Qualifications:
  • Degree: Certificate.
  • Education: Graduate from an accredited community college, junior college, college, university or vocational nursing program approved by the appropriate State agency and accredited by one of the following accrediting bodies at the time the program was completed by the applicant: The National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
  • Experience: One year of practical or vocational nurse experience after graduation.
  • Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • Licensure: Current, full, active and unrestricted license as a practical or vocational nurse.
  • Candidate must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 and able to provide documentation of such to perform in this position except in cases where is it is excluded by any applicable laws and/or approved accommodations. There must be a two week period after the last vaccination to be considered fully vaccinated.
