The Learning & Development Specialist is a highly visible member of the Human Resources team. You will roll out companywide learning initiatives and develop professional skills among staff while working closely with employees at different levels across the company. In this role you will use your social, communication and presentation skills to successfully collaborate within the L&D team and company stakeholders to ensure programming success. You are a negotiator and facilitator that can easily manage in-person, hybrid and/or virtual L&D events.

Job Responsibilities:
Program Planning & Evaluation
  • Evaluate program effectiveness through assessments, surveys, and feedback and determine paths to improvement and increased engagement
  • Research and recommend new programs or enhancements to training programs based on the latest trends

Content Development
  • Contribute to the design, development, and creation of all company training materials, including training manuals, facilitation guides, assessments, training activities, and performance evaluation tools.
  • Use a DEIB lens in the development of all training content
  • Facilitate live and blended training programs; develop and edit on-demand trainings
  • Assist with development of managers training, coordinate and track registration and participation
  • Develop engaging weekly educational series for internship program; coach interns on professional development; collect program feedback

Program Management
  • Rollout and manage the day to day of organization wide DEI trainings; serve as point person and troubleshoot learners' online learning journeys
  • Upload and organize online trainings
  • Maintain records of learning & development activities, attendance, and results of assessments
  • Create and maintain training procedure manuals, guides, and course materials

Corporate Communications
  • Coordinate with corporate communications to promote L&D initiatives; serve as point person for learners
  • Cascade communication around training programs and activities

Collaboration
  • Work with IT to Update WesInfo Intranet L&D page; determine strategies to drive traffic to site
  • Serve as liaison for L&D vendors ensuring smooth delivery of programs
  • Develops effective business relationships with leaders, team members, and area subject matter experts
  • Coordinates meetings and virtual classes/events using virtual delivery tools such as MS Teams

  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications:
  • Typically requires a bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Learning and Development, or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience, including at least 3 years of corporate L&D experience
  • Demonstrated experience adult learning principles and theories
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook is required
  • Proven presentation and project management skills, with a keen eye for detail
  • Basic knowledge of instructional design and adult learning principles
  • Experience in group & virtual facilitation and team coaching with a track record of improving overall performance

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Track record of creative problem solving
  • LMS platform experience
  • Experience working with video creation software
  • Experience developing and managing corporate communications a plus

  • There may be 5-10% travel in this role.
