Lead Enterprise Architect

Description

The Lead Enterprise Architect will be responsible for the overall performance, standards and direction of EA and the architecture domains.

This person will serve in a critical role in the Enterprise Architecture team and partner with IT Leadership and Business Leadership to enable business and IT leaders to make investment decisions that balance and prioritize current operational demands, disruptions, and opportunities with the longer-term strategic vision of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with IT and Business Leadership and Enterprise Architecture Team to provide consensus-based enterprise solutions that are scalable, adaptable and in synchronization with ever changing business needs
  • Lead the Technical Architecture Committee (TAC)
  • Influence senior leaders and all levels of business and IT staff on all areas of the architecture, including policies, standards, strategies, and governance
  • Responsible for establishing and enhancing formal architecture plans including up-to-date roadmaps and future state maps
  • Assure IT and Business Leadership that architecture principles and standards are consistently applied
  • Provide expert advice on industry and application trends when analyzing and planning current and future IT needs
  • Provide guidance on complex architecture challenges
  • Ensures comprehensive and complete work practices and processes are in place and effective
  • Responsible and accountable for assisting with communications and marketing efforts for the Enterprise Architecture, as well as EA overall

Knowledge and experience

  • 15 or more years of IT and business/industry work experience including architecture design and deployment, systems lifecycle management, and infrastructure planning and operations.
  • Experience on multiple, large, cross-functional teams or projects, and influencing senior level management and key stakeholders.
  • Requires exposure to multiple, diverse technologies and processing environments.
  • Knowledge of all components of holistic enterprise architecture, business re-engineering principles and processes
  • Excellent analytical and technical skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, excellent planning and organizational skills
  • Ability to balance the long-term ("big picture") and short-term implications of individual decisions
  • Dealing with ambiguity / change
