LEAD CORPORATE COMMUNICATIONS


WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?

The Corporate Communications Lead oversees a specialized sub-group (e.g., internal, external, crisis) and works with stakeholders (Manager, executives, etc.) to shape and implement City National's communications strategy and execution.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

  • Oversees calendar/reporting, team initatives and team strategy in order to coordinate communications and deploy resources appropriately. Oversees team members including providing feedback and guidance and helping to eliminate roadblocks
  • Oversees and develops speeches, announcements, executive communications, internal news articles, thought leadership content, etc. as aligned with sub-group
  • Develops strategies and communications plans that align to business goals
  • Serves as primary point of contact for certain executives, media/press outlets, and/or infoLink NEWS, as aligned with sub-group
  • All other appropriate duties as required


WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

Must-Have*

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • 7+ years of relevant experience in writing and copy-editing skills, proofreading Journalism, editing, AP Style, or equivalent
  • 6+ years of experience in speech writing, public relations or social media platforms
  • 3+ years of direct or indirect supervisory experience


Skills and Knowledge

  • BA/BS degree in English, Journalism, Public Relations or related communications field preferred
  • Finance/banking background preferred
  • Journalism, editing, AP Style, business background a plus
  • Excellent writing and copy-editing skills required
  • Must be able to provide high attention to detail
  • Knowledge and proficiency in social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.)
  • Must possess an interpersonal style that enables effective relationships with peers and senior executives in the execution of job responsibilities
  • Strong background in corporate communications, business writing, media relations and digital communications
  • Must be capable of working well independently and in teams
Compensation
Starting base salary: $101,231 - $172,355 per year. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. This job is eligible for bonus and/or commissions.
