Lead Computer Instructor

Code Super Powers has exciting new Tech Instructor opportunities. This position may require travel to different program locations in Washington D.C., Anne Arundel, and Prince Georges County, Maryland. Some remote work may be available.

Seeking candidates with strong classroom management, leadership and community building skills. The Lead Tech Instructor must have knowledge of coding fundamentals, and can facilitate learning around coding and STEM.

Gaming experience with Minecraft and/or Roblox coding is preferred. Extensive hands-on training is provided. Ideal for college students who excel in STEM subjects. Receive work-study and/or college credit, while getting paid to do what you love.

Code Super Powers is known for fun and engaging game-based STEM learning. Children have fun coding drones through aerial combat missions, building custom video games, apps and more. The STEM Team develops and delivers training to students in grades K-12 and academic customers on-site, at conferences, and workshops. They strive to enhance customer success by delivering engaging, practical, and user-friendly training tutorials and materials.

Topics range from 3D Game Building, Animation, Roblox Coding, Minecraft Modding, Robotics and Drone Extreme Stunts. Prior computer coding experience is preferred, and a willingness to learn new coding skills is required. Our innovative curriculum is self-paced, so students are able to drive their own projects. Instructors guide, motivate, and foster a fun and creative environment.

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following.

  • Strong classroom management skills
  • Strong community building and outreach skills
  • Passionate about STEM and teaching children, in a fun and engaging manner
  • High energy, enthusiastic and comfortable engaging with parents and students
  • Can lead the implementation of Code Super Powers course curriculum
  • Participate in teacher training and team meetings
  • Able to mentor and manage groups of students in grades K-8
  • Measure students' academic progress through research-based assessments
  • Adjust materials to support the learning outcomes of students based on assessments.

  • Reliable transportation
  • Reliable high-speed internet and a computer with webcam
  • Able to travel to afterschool program sites
  • Assimilate technical and academic information quickly
  • Think flexibly and employ innovative solutions
  • Take initiative to solve problems creatively
  • Work on a variety of tasks, shift easily from one task to another, and complete in a timely manner
  • Organize and prioritize his/her work
  • Highly trainable and open to feedback and direction.
