Our Laundry Team is responsible for providing supplying clean resident bed linens and personal items for the residents at Grace Rehabilitation and Health Center and Cribbs Residential Center. We are looking for additional team members to join this fun crew. The atmosphere is friendly and the work environment is comfortable.

Job Summary:

Performs all laundering activities of resident bed linen and personal linen within established guidelines. Follows set policies and procedures to ensure all linen is laundered to meet the personal needs and comfort of the resident.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Sort soiled linen while wearing proper protective equipment.
  • Load washers with proper amount of linen while wearing proper protective equipment.
  • Start washer on proper washing cycle.
  • Remove clean laundry from washer, place in cart and transport to dryer.
  • Place clean laundry in dryer and select proper drying cycle.
  • Remove laundry from dryer and place in cart and transport to folding room.
  • Fold laundry according to department policy and procedure.
  • Place clean folded laundry into and onto carts for transportation to designated area.
  • Transport clean linen to designated area via cart or rack.
  • Sort personal linen and ready for transport.
  • Hand iron resident personal linen or other items that may need ironed.
  • Transport personal linen to residents.
  • Launder all table linens.
  • Fold or mangle table linens, place on hanger and hang in designated area.
  • Report equipment malfunctions to manager.
  • Adhere to all department policies and procedures.
  • Attend meetings and training as directed by manager.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Non-Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • May be required to work over time or on scheduled day off to help cover when short staffed.
  • Assist with fire drills at Cribbs.
  • Adhere to all Wesbury policies and procedures.

Working Conditions:

Works in a clean, well heated, well cooled, well lighted, and well ventilated area of the facility. Repeated bending, squatting, stooping, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, and pulling are required. Exposure to infectious diseases and infectious waste through soiled linens.

Qualifications Necessary to Perform Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

High school graduate or equivalent. Must be able to read schedules, instructions on equipment, and labels on laundry chemicals. Must be able to answer the phone and write/leave messages for co-workers and staff. Must be able to perform the physical requirements of the position. Ability to work with co-workers and other staff. Treat all residents, co-workers, and Wesbury staff with care and respect. Protect resident confidentiality by not sharing information outside of the workplace. Must adhere to all Wesbury personnel policies as they apply to the workplace.

Assist with the training of new employees.

Supervision Received:

Follow supervision of the lead person and manager.
