The story of the Ladurée macaron starts in the middle of the 19th century with Pierre Desfontaines, who first thought of taking two macaron shells and joining them with a delicious ganache filling. The recipe has not changed since. Ladurée is a veritable song to sweets and pastry innovation. Every moment of creation is an intense experience. Ladurée offers a wide range of classic and seasonal macaron flavors, as well as a full menu featuring delicious salads, sandwiches, soups and more.

POSITION SUMMARY

Ladurée customers are looking to enjoy a wonderful coffee made by a great Barista who is knowledgeable about the history behind it. We are looking for that person that can provide exceptional customer service to our guests.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Promote coffee consumption by educating customers; selling coffee and coffee grinding and brewing equipment, accessories, and supplies; preparing and serving a variety of coffee drinks, along with pastries and cookies.
• Welcome customers by determining their coffee interests and needs.
• Educate customers by presenting and explaining the coffee drink menu; answering questions.
• Sell coffee and coffee grinding and brewing equipment and be knowledgeable about differences in coffee beans and coffee preparation machines; demonstrate how brewing equipment operates.
• Prepare and sell coffee drinks by following prescribed recipes and preparation techniques for coffee drinks including espresso, cafe latte, cappuccino, matcha latte, rose latte, and many more.
• Generate revenues by attracting new customers; defining new and expanded services and products.
• Maintain inventories by replenishing coffee bean supply; stocking coffee brewing equipment; maintaining supplies, pastries, and cookies for coffee bar.
• Keep equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.
• Maintain safe and healthy work environment by following organization standards and sanitation regulations.
• Improve quality results by studying, evaluating, and re-designing processes; implementing changes; maintaining and improving the appearance of the store and coffee bar.
• Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading coffee, retail trade, and food service publications; maintaining personal networks.
• Enhance coffee shop reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments

QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred
• Prior café or coffee shop experience a plus
• Familiarity with telephone, office, and point-of-sale software
