LA Testing Inc./EMSL Analytical, Inc. is currently seeking a Full Time Laboratory Technician in its Industrial Hygiene department for its Huntington Beach, CA location. Under direction, this individual will be responsible for preparing and analyzing environmental / Industrial Hygiene chemistry samples for a busy commercial laboratory. There is a high volume of samples, so the candidate must be able to interact with others , meet deadlines and have the ability to provide technical support when needed. Must adhere to EMSL Safety protocol and guidelines utilizing PPE as appropriate.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Perform sample and QC preparations by various techniques following regulatory methods (i.e. EPA, ASTM, NIOSH, OSHA, SOP).
Review and validate data used for generating final reports and Electronic Data Deliverables.
Interact internally to facilitate work flow and project requirements.
Responsible for basic equipment maintenance and interaction with vendor services.
Effective verbal/written communication skills, self-motivated, well-organized, and constructive, effective team member.
Familiarity with NELAC and ISO 17025 quality system standards.
Prepare reagents,standards, sample desorbtion and extractions using pipettes balances various glassware as appropriate.
Analytical / sample preparation methods including: NIOSH and OSHA methods of analysis of Cyanide, Nitrogen Dioxide, Hexavalant Chromium, Ozone using UV/Vis Spectroroscopy, Ion Chromatography, HPLC and GC Analytical Instrumentation.
Utilize Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook to process data, generate reports.
Order supplies and manage inventory as needed. Maintain a neat and orderly work area.
Perform administrative tasks as needed.
Cross training in various instrumentation including; XRD, GC, HPLC, GCMS, ICP, ICP-MS, Mercury FIMS, as required

Requirements:
Associates or Bachelors' Degree in Physical Science preferred
Must have one plus years' experience in a commercial Lab setting using Inorganic/Organic sample handling/ preparation / acid digestion techniques.
Must have knowledge of SOP’s and ISO procedures.
Candidate must be able to distinguish colors in order to perform analysis.
Must be able to work independently as well as with a team and work in a fast-paced setting.
Must have excellent communication, computer, typing, and organizational skills.
Basic math skills related to analytical chemistry required.
Must be able to stand and sit for various lengths of time.

Available Shift:
Monday to Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
