EMSL Analytical, Inc., one of the largest environmental testing firms in the United States, is currently seeking a full time Laboratory Technician in its Food Microbiology department for its Indianapolis, IN lab location. This is suitable for entry level candidates. The environment is very busy with multiple tasks going on at the same time and requires a great deal of multi-tasking. The job requires a good attention to detail, patience and ability to sit or stand for long periods of time. The position are designed to support the laboratory in multiple areas.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Prepare samples received for analysis for the food microbiology laboratory.
Media Preparation.
Media and Reagent Preparation.
Sample preparation and pH Adjustments.
Documentation of sample preparation, quality assurance/quality control and analytical activities.
Assist with laboratory organization, supply inventory, calibrations, and cleaning and maintenance of laboratory equipment.
Some clerical work may be involved including login and data entry and scanning and emailing reports.
Cross training in other laboratory disciplines as needed to meet business demands.

Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Completed college courses/working towards an Associates or Bachelor's Degree is preferred
Minimum of 1 year experience in testing microbiology environment preferred
Candidate must be able to distinguish colors in order to perform analysis.
Must have good communication skills (will have some client interaction).
Must have good computer skills both in typing and Microsoft Office.
Must have good attention to detail.
Must have an understanding of custody client confidentiality.
Must be able to work independently and with a team.
Must be able to work well under pressure and meet client deadlines.
Must be able to work some weekends if needed.

Available Shift:
Monday to Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
