Laboratory Assistant I (Temporary) Job at WV DHHR - Bureau for Public Health

Description of Duties:
Obey all rules, regulations, policies and procedures established by the Office of Laboratory Services and by state, federal and related agencies. Under direct supervision, perform the following duties as a team member of the Laboratory Support Section in accordance with well-defined and established standard operating procedures.
- Open and sort incoming specimen mail in a biosafety cabinet.
- Accession and process specimens according to established procedures.
- Enter data from request form into the laboratory information management system.
- Deliver specimens to appropriate technical unit.
- Process and mail final reports to submitters and send reportable disease
reports to appropriate agencies.
- Respond to phone, fax, and email requests for test reports.
- Prepare specimen collection kits and send kits to facility making request.
- Reception desk duties.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Training: Graduation from a standard high school or equivalent.
Job Type: Temporary
Pay: From $12.00 per hour

Experience:
- data entry or laboratory: 1 year (Preferred)
