Darling Ingredients is seeking a Lab Technician for a temporary position, to join our team at our plant in Linville, VA, which is located near Harrisonburg, VA. This role will be responsible for collecting product samples for testing and reporting purposes.

This position is a temporary position, which will last up to approximately 6 months. The position will be scheduled to work Monday-Friday, from 8:00am-4:30pm.

Job Summary:

• To collect product samples for testing and reporting purposes.

• Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
• Take samples on scheduled basis and upon request.
• Perform tests on products, typically protein and moisture.
• Record test results and maintain accurate collection and testing records.
• Summarize, create reports as requested by management.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school graduate.
• Ability to maintain proper record keeping, filing of all items, materials, and information.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Science background is a plus.

• Previous lab experience, knowledge of sampling and testing methodologies is preferred.
• Physical Demands:
• Lift up to 40 pounds
• Climb stairs and ladders as needed to perform product testing.

Work Environment:

• Laboratory, office environment within plant.
• Can be dusty, hot and will have to deal with odors.
