Lab Tech 2
Location: Analytical Lab - Columbus, MT
Schedule: Rotating Shiftwork (Super 7)
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Performs sample preparation, which includes operations such as filtering slurries, drying, crushing, pulverizing, and splitting of samples in order to provide a representative sample for chemical analysis. Samples include concentrator slurries, geological channel and drill cores, smelter, and refinery samples.
- Perform chemical analysis using fire assay, wet chemical digestion, x-ray analysis, and instrumentation spectrometry. Analysis is inorganic including precious metals and base metals.
- Use computers and calculate results, report results do various other computer work.
QUALIFICATIONS/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE - Required:
- Analytical laboratory experience required.
- Must possess equivalent skills to meet task proficiency matrix.
- Computer literate, preferably experience with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Must have excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Successful completion of the Analytical Laboratory Aptitude Test.
