Lab Processing Tech Lead Job at Edward-Elmhurst Health
Edward-Elmhurst is a 736-bed system that includes three hospitals – Edward Hospital in Naperville, Elmhurst Hospital and Linden Oaks Behavioral Health (on the Edward campus), and an extensive ambulatory care network that provides comprehensive healthcare to residents of the west and southwest suburbs of Chicago
JOB SUMMARY: Under general supervision and according to established policies and procedures, prepares, collects, logs and labels specimens for testing. Registers patient information and orders laboratory tests in the computer system. Arranges specimens for further processing by Laboratory staff. Assists Supervisor in establishing section work schedules for assigned staff to ensure adequate shift coverages Orients and provides training to Lab Processing Tech and Phlebotomy students. Coordinates staff continuing education. Prepares written material of clinical procedures.
HOURS: 6am-2:30pm with flexibility to work earlier or later than designated shift
REQUIRED:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum six months of experience in a clinical laboratory setting
- Minimum one year of phlebotomy experience
- A valid driver’s license is required if the incumbent is selected to perform related duties at an off-site location. The incumbent must maintain automobile liability coverage as required by law and evidence of such coverage may be requested
