Purpose and Scope: To develop and maintain technical packages and prototypes for product line from hand-off through to final production approval for a high quality women’s wear designer.

Main Responsibilities

  • This role is the responsible point person for Knitwear technical development & production.
  • Create and update specification tech packs, including working with design team on knit down stitch development requests, coordination of layouts and detailed technical sketches, graded measurements and construction details according to fit direction lead by design.
  • Participate in tech pack hand off and processes.
  • Reviews all protos with Design for overall direction.
  • Organize work/file and manage scheduling of fit model meetings along with woven tech team.
  • Manage all sample stages: Fitting 1st proto thru PPS as needed and review TOPs and alert production to any problems with stock.
  • Manage the adherence to product time/action calendars and coordinate with production manager.
  • Maintain organized work files for: Tech Packs & Grading Specifications

Merchandise Sheets & Fit Guides.

  • Communicate deviations from calendar, facilitates resolutions and resolves issues.
  • Participate in research and development of quality standards for the Technical design department.
  • Confirm label, packaging instructions for conformance to standards.
  • Establish strong relationships with cross functional and global partners.
  • Ability to interact and coordinate workload, communication and technical direction to local freelance tech as well as merchandisers and tech team In Asia.
  • Ability to work closely with the design team and interpret garment design intent.
  • Ability to work out of the box, multitask and juggle ad hoc projects and processes for quick accurate turnaround.
  • Management of special projects/ tasks as needed by supervisor.
  • Preparing SVS Specs.
  • Starting to Note Tension/Hand-feel approvals from Creative Director.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Fashion, or equivalent industry experience preferred
  • Minimum of 10 years experience specifically in Knit technical design preferred
  • Experience in high end designer/contemporary/better market preferred
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Must have strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask and juggle ad hoc projects and processes for a quick turnaround
  • Highly solution and detail oriented
  • Must be a team player

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time, exempt position. Work hours will range from 40 – 50 hours per week depending on the workload. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. Some seasonal oversees travel may be required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
