Kennel Assistant - Dog Daycare
Hounds Town Commack Rd is GROWING and we are looking for hard working dog lovers to join our team as a Part Time, or Full Time Kennel Assistant.

Unlike many other pet care facilities, we offer FULLY INTERACTIVE doggie daycare—meaning dogs are placed in play groups by size and temperament, where they interact and play all day long. The psychological structure that natural packs offer helps with separation anxiety, confidence building, obedience, and many other behavioral issues. It’s also peace of mind for our customers, knowing that their dogs have a place to be themselves.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Able to interact in a positive way with all sizes, types, and breeds of dogs
• Maintains control of large group of open play dogs in the playroom
• Daily cleaning assignments which may include, but is not limited to vacuuming, mopping, taking out trash, dishes, laundry as well as scrubbing of walls, floors, and beds
• Laundry and dishes
• Maintain general safety procedures.
• Ensure supervision of dogs and adherence to all policy and procedures
• Bathing dogs
• Food Prep and Feeding dogs
• Kennel clean-up
• Customer Service with Dog Owners
• Basic computer skills
• Taking direction from Shift Leaders on tasks
• Team Player; Organized; Hard working; Self motivated
• Must be able to handle heavy lifting of 50 pounds or more and be on your feet 5-8 hours
• Must be 18 years of age or older

Salary:

• $15.00/hour to start (based on experience)

Qualified candidate should have availability to work weekends and holidays!

Experience working at a Dog Daycare, Kennel, Shelter or Pet Store is preferred.
