Volt Energy is seeking an experienced, CALIFORNIA-LICENSED Journeyman Electrician to provide guidance and technical knowledge for our team. In this position, the licensed Journeyman Electrician will communicate the necessary job status data to the operations team to assure the successful operation and instillation of a complete and working system. The ideal candidate will also offer safety assurances, feedback to the team, adhere to the guidelines provided, and be a team player. Volt Energy is a fast-paced and team-oriented company looking for the right person to lead the charge in this new growth!

Responsibilities

  • Installing and maintaining the electrical equipment and wiring that connects the photovoltaic system to the electrical grid.
  • Installation of mounting systems and modules when necessary
  • Ensure that all work performed complies with 2020 NEC code and workmanship!
  • Communicate the necessary job status data to the operations team.
  • Be knowledgeable and comply with OSHA safety standards for the installation team.
  • Troubleshooting system problems and resolving electrical issues
  • Train, mentor, and develop apprentices.

Qualifications

  • Valid CA state Journeyman Electricians License - required.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Experience with data communications and monitoring systems, preferred.
  • Experience with grid-tied and off-grid battery and/or generator backup systems is a plus.
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Exercises a high level of professionalism and a positive demeanor.
  • Thrive in a team environment!

Required Skills

  • Working knowledge and ability to interpret and apply 2020 NEC requirements!
  • Experience reading and interpreting one-line drawings and electrical schematics.
  • Must have working knowledge and experience replacing commercial electrical services.
  • Must be able to work with 110V-600V AC & DC systems, including single & three-phase systems.
  • Ability to work in extreme environments (example: hot sun, cold, crawl spaces)
  • Must be willing and able to climb ladders, and stairs and work in high places!
  • Capable of lifting 50 lbs.
