HOURS
2nd Shift: Monday-Thursday, 3:00pm to 1:30am
Overtime is worked as needed on Friday
POSITION DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
  • Responsible to know and perform duties in compliance of current electrical codes that apply to the Company's operation, under a Journeyman/Master Electrician. Codes include Local, State, and Federal, requirements
  • Design and install machine wiring and control systems
  • Install conduit and wiring for single phase and three phase building wiring
  • Perform electrical and mechanical repairs to facility and machines
  • Knowledgeable in the basic set up and troubleshooting of pneumatics and hydraulics
  • Perform preventative maintenance on facility and machines
  • Assists maintenance personnel with technical troubleshooting
  • Ability to work at either our Wausau or Stratford manufacturing centers
  • Able to flex hours in support of business needs to include working overtime before or after normal hours in additions to Saturday’s as required
  • Adhere to established safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe environment for all associates. Will participate in additional required safety training associated with the Maintenance function(s).
  • Use all approved safety personal protective equipment, and equipment safeguarding
  • Maintain a clean and well-organized maintenance shop and parts storage area
  • Adhere to established policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Support Six Sigma/Lean and the continuous improvement process
  • Proficient use of computer systems and intranet functions
  • Undertake job responsibilities in a manner consistent with the company's Core Values
  • May be required to perform other company duties as needed to assist other departments as requested

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
  • Journeyman Electrician and Instrumentation ( E & I ) Technician OR 5_ years of experience working as an electrician in a manufacturing settin
  • Master Electrician Certification preferred. Wausau Window will support candidate in obtaining this certification if they do not have it at the time of hire.
SKILL and KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS
  • Ability to read and understand prints, drawings, technical manuals, parts diagrams, schematics, and other supporting documentation
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
  • Communicate effectively in a verbal and a written manner
  • Knowledge of window and curtain wall product and processes is preferred
  • Computer software proficiency in the following:
    • Intranet
    • Internet
    • Outlook
    • Work order system iMaintenance
  • Self-starter who works well independently and as part of a team
  • Flexible and willing to shift priorities, Wausau and Stratford facilities as needed
  • Willing and able to work overtime and weekends as needed
  • Required to work on roofs and man lifts up to 40 feet in height
  • Experience and ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • A thorough knowledge of electrical/electronic components and equipment including the use of special instruments for diagnostic purposes
  • Strong Diagnostic skills
  • Must be certified forklift operator
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position has no supervisory responsibility.
WORK ENVIRONMENT/TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
The associate is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The associate is frequently exposed to high, precarious places and risk of electrical shock. The associate is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Must have the ability to travel to our Stratford or Wausau Manufacturing Centers.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The associate is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The associate is frequently required to walk; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The associate is occasionally required to sit and taste or smell. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Two person assist or mechanical lifts for heavier weights.
DISTANCES and HEIGHTS
May walk the entire facility (~400’ total). May be doing repairs near ceiling requiring ladders.
TOOLS and EQUIPMENT USED
PPE (Safety glasses, Protective gloves, Safety Shoes, Single Use Ear Plugs), hand held tools, wire cutter, wire strippers, screw driver, wrenches, wiring, ladder, varying replacement materials, allen wrench, nuts, bolts, most machines are on wheels, overhead cranks, hydraulic jacks, man lift. Can repair anything electrical within the facility.
