As a Barclays Java Developer, you will be working within a dedicated team of engineers to build, maintain and expand Banking Compliance solutions. You will also be involved in all aspects of development to build out innovative solutions using latest technology stack.

We are currently in the early stages of implementing a hybrid working environment, which means that many colleagues spend part of their working hours at home and part in the office, depending on the nature of the role they are in. Depending on your team, typically this means that colleagues spend a minimum of between 20% to 60% of their time in the office, which could be over a week, a month or a quarter. What will you be doing?

• Developing new applications and enhancements to existing applications
• Translating functional and technical requirements into technology solutions
• Integrating components while pulling together data from various sources
• Contributing in developing and maintaining a BDD based testing automation packs
• Supporting, monitoring, and troubleshooting production and non- production environments; minimizing impact to business
• Helping resolve production issues to provide/implement tactical solutions to minimize impact to business followed by strategic solutions
• Meeting firm-wide standards for code quality, security and engineering excellence
• Providing support for the developed applications as needed

What we’re looking for:

• Bachelor’s Degree
• Significant years of hands on experience in Java technologies including Core Java, Spring boot, spring data JMS, Hibernate, micro services, application servers/containers (JBoss, Tomcat or others)
• 4+ years of hands on experience with Restful Services
• 3+ years of experience in Relational Databases like Oracle, SQL Server and PL/SQL

Skills that will help you in the role:

• Ability to understand business requirements and develop software solutions
• Experience spring-cloud and micro service architecture is a plus
• Strong data analysis skills and ability to present the findings to the business users
• Quick learner; strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to deal with numerous tasks simultaneously and with frequently changing priorities
