Work Location: The position requires reporting to the RTMC located in Sanford, Florida during regular business hours. Traveling to the DeLand District Office, field locations, and maintenance warehouses will also be required as needed.

Job Description

Pivotal Point is seeking an IT Administration/Specialist - Entry Level to be responsible for Firewall Administration, Web Filter Administration, Server Administration, Security Administration, Special Programs Administration, Network Administration backup, and Workstation Support. A combination of the proposed IT Specialist’s ability will cover all responsibilities listed below.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

The Department maintains a network of connected sensors to monitor roadway conditions and provide situational awareness to its Regional Transportation Management Center and other government and private agencies that aid in incident response and signal timing. To accomplish this task a variety of Information Technology (IT) Services are required. The organization structure of IT includes a Department Manager and IT Specialist that work directly for the Department in addition to contracted staff.

  • Firewall Administration: Includes working on Juniper Firewalls including Role, Policy Updates, etc.
  • Web Filter Administration: Includes working with Triton / Websense for weekly audits, permission updates, software updates, status monitoring, etc.
  • Server Administration: Includes working with the Department VMWare environment, Veeam backup and recovery, and Dell Compellent / Powerstore multitier storage systems, including quarterly patch management, local role updates, modified provisioning, etc.
  • Security Administration: Includes working on RADIUS, Active Directory, State Law Enforcement Radio System background clearance, and handling the Department’s Security Access Request process via Atlassian Jira. The specialist will be responsible for managing D5-ITS/TSMO user base.
  • Network Administration backup includes working on Extreme (formerly Brocade) devices to provide basic troubleshooting and assigned tasks from the Network Administration during hours not covered by the Network Administrator (usually Fridays 8am-5pm).
  • Workstation Support includes hardware setup, user support, inventory, and maintaining a wiki for user self-help.

Special Programs Administration includes:

  • Activu video wall control
  • Road Ranger Mobile Application for service patrol dispatch
  • iVDS for remote camera viewing
  • SunGuide for Advance Traveler Management
  • BlueMac for Bluetooth data collection
  • Maintenance Inventory Management System (MIMS) for maintenance dispatch and inventory management
  • G.ITS Facility Management for field device location.
  • SCCM / SCOM management of Server and workstation infrastructure.
  • Solarwinds network and infrastructure monitoring.

Minimum Required Qualifications:

Must pass SLERS background, CJIS, and FDOT security and policy modules will need to be completed prior to start of work.

Education:

Certifications, Associate Degree or Bachelor’s Degree (preferred)

Minimum Required Experience:

  • 1 yr. of hands-on experience
  • 1+ years of experience performing similar or comparable work in an environment of similar scale and complexity.
  • Candidates must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Candidates must possess excellent communication skills and be able to communicate efficiently and effectively.
  • Candidates must be able to work well with clients and team members of all levels not required.
