Position Summary:
Federal Data Systems is seeking an IT Systems Engineer-Architect to engineer projects that will develop and implement next-generation IT tools, systems, and capabilities to help revolution the cyber battlefield and ensure the superiority of our cyber forces.
Essential Job Functions:
  • Evaluate, develop, and deliver technical input to the systems engineering process.
  • Develop technical documentation, system architecture, and system design documentation.
  • Interact with the Government regarding Systems Engineering technical considerations and for associated problems, issues, or conflicts.
  • Oversee the technical integrity of work performed and deliverables associated with the Systems Engineering area of responsibility.
  • Communicate with other program personnel, Government overseers, and senior executives.
  • Guide system development and implementation planning through assessment or preparation of system engineering management plans and system integration and test plans.
  • Analyze complex information and independently takes appropriate actions to resolve problems.
  • Provide engineering guidance to technical staff and establishes effective working relationships with other Government agencies and mission partners.
  • Deliver briefings on complex topics to groups, which may include high-level decision makers.
  • Work complex research projects as senior contributors and as part of an integrated team.
Minimum Required Qualifications:
  • Due to the nature of this position and the information that employees will be required to access; U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in System Engineering or related discipline.
  • Active CISSP, CASP+CE, CSSLP certification (minimum DoD 8570 IASAE Level II Certification).
  • Required Security Clearance: Active TS/SCI Polygraph.

Preferred / Desired Skills:

  • Exposure to Cloud/AWS.
  • A problem solver who can get in, be given a project, and use engineering skills to determine a solution.
  • Knowledge of DoD Architecture Framework (DODAF).
  • Able to build systems from the ground up – network architecture/systems engineering.
Working Conditions:
Work is typically based in a busy office environment and subject to frequent interruptions. Business work hours are normally set from Monday through Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm, however some extended or weekend hours may be required. Additional details on the precise hours will be informed to the candidate from the Program Manager/Hiring Manager.

Physical Requirements:
May be required to lift and carry items weighting up to 25 lbs. Requires intermittent standing, walking, sitting, squatting, stretching and bending throughout the workday.

Background Screening/Check/Investigation:
Successful Completion of a Background Screening/Check/Investigation will be required as a condition of hire.
