IT Strategy & Planning Director – Payment Integrity


Location : This position will work a hybrid model (remote and office). The ideal candidate will live within 50 miles of one of our Elevance Health PulsePoint locations.


The IT Strategy & Planning Director – Payment Integrity is responsible for IT strategic planning, analysis, and execution of IT functional plans to ensure growth and performance aligns with the organization's strategic intent. This role will be responsible for leading the delivery and ongoing innovation of payment integrity activities for the organization.


How you will make an impact:


  • Developing and executing IT strategies at the business unit to execute across the enterprise that aligns with the business unit priorities and those of IT.
  • Partners with senior planning leaders and executive leadership to create a sound multi-year plan with clear planning assumptions and accurate financial insights for the IT function.
  • Monitors and conducts research on related technology and business trends, using data and qualitative performance measures, to advise senior management relative to IT strategy.
  • Synthesizes annual and multi-year plans to demonstrate tie-back to corporate and CIO-level strategies and goals.
  • Conduct external research and engage partners across multiple departments within the broader enterprise to frame up potential strategic initiatives for investment or execution support.
  • Use strategic vision, relationship management, analytical, and advanced communication skills to deliver impactful results.
  • Proactively drive innovation to maximize opportunities and drive incremental savings.
  • Prepare and distribute performance and savings reports to executive leadership.

Minimum Requirements:

Requires a BA/BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field of study and a minimum of 10 years of experience in Data Collection and Analysis, IT Consulting, IT Performance Management, Strategy or Financial Planning, Business Intelligence and Analytics, or Business Process Design; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

Preferred Skills, Capabilities, and Experiences:


  • Experience working with a Data Science team is strongly preferred.
  • Six or more years of direct payment integrity experience, pre or post-payment, with measurable and meaningful results
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology and claims processing is required.
  • Working knowledge of regulations and requirements regarding health plan claims operations (CMS, AMA, HIPAA, etc.)
  • Dynamic presentation skills
  • Degree in Healthcare Administration preferred


For candidates working in person or remotely in the below locations, the salary* range for this specific position is $156,480 to $281,664.

Locations: California; Colorado; Nevada; Washington State; Jersey City, NJ; New York City, NY; Ithaca, NY and Westchester County, NY
