IT Operations Consultant, #572

Clearance: Ability to obtain the required government security clearance (Public Trust)

Dev Technology is looking for a knowledgeable and creative IT Operations Consultant to analyze the current IT Operations and Maintenance and Security environment and give thoughtful recommendations for improved operational efficiency and security across an entire government enterprise in the AWS cloud environment. This is an opportunity to create meaningful, lasting change for the entire organization. The ideal candidate will bring a depth and breadth of technical knowledge and creativity as well as skills to help manage the selected solution through to completion. This is a role for someone who likes to work on multiple aspects of a solution, communicate with leadership, and can drive change in collaboration with our government customer.

What You'll Be Doing

The IT Operations Consultant will work with program leadership to review current and structure future business process solutions and strategic planning for our government client. The position will focus on identifying the optimal solution for the Operations and Maintenance (O&M) of multiple contracts supported by multiple contractors in support of a large government agency. The successful candidate will enjoy providing guidance based on past experience and getting hands on with new tools to create new proofs of concept. The most suitable candidates will be flexible and forward-thinking and will work hand-in-hand with the architects and consultants to design holistic solutions to achieve optimal results for the client.

In addition to demonstrating deep technical skills, the candidate will be expected to have experience with requirements definition, system and site design, security remediation, and must be able to assist with managing a continuous integration process for all developed solutions. The candidate is expected to contribute to the development standards and guidelines for all Operations and Maintenance related to HUD enterprise environments. The candidate will also contribute to the technical direction of the platforms and assist in determining the adoption of new technologies as needed to support existing and emerging requirements from the government.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in a related field and 5+ years of professional experience
  • Professional experience in IT O&M environment required
  • Review/analyze business requirements and provide technical feasibility and estimates
  • Work with other technical resources in the completion of project tasks and the delivery of custom solutions
  • Work directly with clients and customers to solve technical problems
  • Conduct technical demonstrations for clients and stakeholders to influence agency direction
  • Architect solutions to solve client needs or problems
  • Ability to design enterprise solutions in an AWS environment
  • Proven ability to design innovative solutions and deliver quality software to strict standards and schedules through own efforts and those of others.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and deliver production quality software within tight schedules.
  • Excellent communication skills

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Knowledge of SharePoint and ServiceNow
  • Knowledge of DevOps principles and methodologies
  • Experience with Splunk and/or other system monitoring tools
  • Experience in government contracting environment preferred
