Detox Intake Specialist needed for a mental health and substance abuse institution

Pay Rate: $17-19.50 per hour (depending on education and experience)
Location: Onsite in North Stonington, CT
Employment Type: Direct Hire
Schedule: Full-time, 36 hours, 3 days a week 6:45am – 7:15pm, with rotating schedules (Week 1 Mon, Tues, Fri | Week 2 Sun, Thur, Fri)

The origin of our client's facility dates way back to 1945 when it first started out as a farm with a beautiful orchard and has since blossomed into an detox and mental health support institution. Skip forward to 1957 when the owners sold the farm to two determined hospital administrators who introduced the principles of Alcoholics Anonymous to the local community.

As the Intake Specialist, you will stand side-by-side patients as they endure the hardest part of their journey to sobriety. Being the pillar for each person's individual experiences, your team will lean on you to observe the unit to ensure the safety and security of the environment for clients and visitors of the Substance Use Disorder Facility. You'll assist in the admissions process, collect and complete vital signs/urine screens/strip searches and accurately document the client's inventory. Facilitating experiences to create a safe and supportive environment will be one of your top priorities and some of the most life-changing moments you'll get to be a part of.

Experience and skills we're looking for:

• 1-2 years of Social Work experience or working with adults dealing with substance abuse/withdrawals
• Passion for helping people
• Must have working knowledge of taking vitals and be comfortable with processing urine samples & strip searches when needed
• Must be able to make sound decisions during intense situations
• Certified Nursing Assistant and Medical Assistant graduates or students are encouraged to apply!
