You’ll be a key member of our Insurance team, responsible for expertly consulting new and existing clients on creating the perfect insurance program, as well as delivering the necessary (re)insurance policies. You’ll work closely with the Sales, Product, Operations and Customer Success teams to structure the right coverage and terms for innovative insurance programs such as episodic (rental), Usage-Based Insurance (UBI), commercial fleet and subscription auto, and self-insured retention solutions. (Re)insurance must then be sourced and negotiated with (re)insurance markets to deliver the final program.

This position involves proactively developing relationships with several P&C markets and intermediaries across the distribution chain. The ideal candidate has a work hard/win big attitude, the openness to learning and passion for delivering results. As we are currently a fully distributed team it is important that you are a self-starter that takes initiative and communicates effectively.


What you'll do:

  • Understand our client's business objectives, identify risk management and insurance needs, including evaluating loss and claims history.
  • Recommend the right coverage and program structure, leveraging DigiSure's full suite of products and technology to deliver an integrated solution. The overall approach is to be a trusted advisor and an expert risk & insurance consultant to the client.
  • Create a comprehensive program summary and insurable exposure opportunity on behalf of the client and submit to suitable insurance markets for indication and quote
  • Use your network to build relationships with insurance markets suitable to the programs we are developing
  • Operationalize tailored programs including policy structure, coverages, underwriting criteria, pricing models and pricing rules
  • Act as broker for our clients regarding all insurance needs
  • Lead efforts to meet reporting requirements, modify the program and prepare for renewals
  • Develop our program administration capabilities by defining requirements for the tech platform
  • Take lead on all insurance regulatory, compliance, filing and licensing requirements

What you'll need:

  • 4-7 years experience in the insurance industry that includes several aspects of auto and homeowners, for both commercial and personal lines
  • Understanding of the brokerage market in the commercial space
  • Understanding of personal lines regulatory requirements for admitted and non-admitted products
  • Leverage knowledge of innovative solutions, such as telematics and UBI, to develop safe and cost effective solutions
  • Broad relationships across markets engaged in sharing economy, commercial auto and other mobility-related products
  • Analytical skills and modeling capability to build underwriting, pricing, and claim models
  • Business development experience to work directly with new and existing accounts
  • Strategic thinking, vision, and negotiation skills
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to create presentations and other collateral materials
  • Insurance licenses in P&C and Surplus Lines

Bonus points if:

  • Experience with actuarial modeling a plus
  • Understanding of state level nuances in the U.S.
  • Experience filing rates and products with state DOI
  • Familiarity with insurance programs that include telematics, UBI, subscriptions, ADAS, and AV components
  • Knowledge of broad array of transportation programs including rideshare, last mile delivery, scooters, and trucking
  • Experience with building and operating alternative risk structures including captives, Risk Retention Groups, etc.
