Hyperion Materials & Technologies is looking to hire a motivated professional with commercial experience and exposure to manufacturing with strong business acumen for our Inside Sales Representative role. The successful candidate for this role will work closely with the commercial team, operations teams, customer service team, and other key stakeholders to support the needs of customers. The Inside Sales Representative will have responsibility for finding and developing prospective customers, growing sales into with small-to-medium sized customers, and supporting the field sales team with share growth in key accounts. He/She will drive market share gain and increase profitability of the carbide rods segment.

The Inside Sales Representative is a member of the Carbide Rods Business Unit and reports to the Inside Sales Manager – Carbide Rods. This position will be based in our Worthington, OH site; however, up to 20% travel will be required.

Responsibilities:
  • Find, research, and cultivate a relationship with prospective customers.
  • Follow-up on leads and referrals, assessing and qualifying them as sales opportunities.
  • Build rapport and trust with customers through phone calls, emails, online meetings, and occasional in-person meetings.
  • Use sales processes and value selling to uncover the needs of customers and demonstrate how Hyperion Materials & Technologies can meet their needs.
  • Work together with Field Sales and Customer Service to provide world-class service to specific Key Accounts.
  • Utilize the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system to track interactions with prospects and customers.
  • As necessary, obtain relevant information to process and resolve customer inquiries, requests, or complaints.
  • Learn and cultivate product and application knowledge to answer customer questions.
  • Achieve monthly sales targets and other defined business objectives.
  • Conduct insightful voice of the customer analysis to identify customer satisfaction, needs and perceived and unknown customer pain.

  • Empathy for the customer, understanding the customer’s world and the role that Hyperion plays in solving the issues of the customer.

  • Strong understanding of Hyperion technology and how it is applied by the customer, including quickly learning new products and applications.
  • Superior prioritization, workload balancing, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills across a variety of teams, personalities and cultural backgrounds.
  • Ability to get things done individually and through a matrix organization.

Required Skills/Experience:
  • 2+ years of customer service or commercial experience with interactions with both customers and internal support team.
  • Experience in manufacturing.
  • Proven track record of setting aggressive targets and meeting business goals through team interaction and involvement.
  • Outstanding communication (written and verbal), interpersonal, and organization skills.
  • Utilization of CRM systems, like SalesForce or Microsoft Dynamics.
  • Utilization of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, Movex/Info M3 experience a plus.
  • Self-Starter and highly motivated
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Education:
  • Associates Degree, Diploma of Higher Education, or equivalent, BS in Engineering / Business a plus
  • Fluency in English is required; German and/or Spanish is a plus.

Travel:
  • Up to 20% of domestic and international travel required for the position.
