Inmate Grievance Coordinator (#013391) Lieber Correctional Inst, Ridgeville (DORCHESTER) L 3 Job at State of South Carolina
- Under limited supervision from the warden, chief of inmate grievance branch, and central office inmate grievance administrators,
- Performs a wide variety of administrative duties for the inmate grievance branch.
- Investigates grievances by conducting thorough and impartial inquiries of circumstances pertaining to grievances through interviews with inmates and staff.
- Analyzes specific information obtained and prepares recommendations designed to resolve problems at the lowest possible level.
- Reviews and research SCDC policies, relevant/mandated statues, disciplinary tapes, and any documentation related to grievances.
- Interprets rules, regulations, policies, and procedures as they apply to day-to-day operations and to the grievance procedures, accepts and forwards appeals to the central office, serves inmates with step 1 and step 2 grievance decisions and performs other duties as assigned.
Must successfully complete eight (8) week SCDC Basic Training upon hire

State of South Carolina Minimum Requirements:
A high school diploma and relevant program experience.
SCDC Minimum Requirements: (Or an acceptable equivalency as approved by the Division of State Human Resources).
Four (4) years responsible clerical, secretarial or administrative experience preferably in a correctional or law enforcement setting.
A Bachelor's degree may be substituted for the related work experience.
Required to have experience in personal computer, leadership, law enforcement/paralegal/research and investigations.
