SUMMARY: Supports all production/facility equipment during normal operation, performs preventive maintenance on all equipment, and maintains facility in top condition.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Make equipment adjustments (timing, feed, etc.) and repair sewing & quilting machines and related equipment as necessary to address machine failures as well as quality and production issues.
• Inspect, operate, or troubleshoot machinery and related equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions.
• Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs, as necessary.
• Clean or lubricate shaft, bearings, gears, or other parts of machinery.
• Repair or replace defective equipment parts, using hand tools and power tools, and reassemble equipment.
• Assist in training sewing machine operators in proper setup and operation of machines.
• Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment.
• Maintain parts inventory.
• Perform duties safely and maintain a clean and safety work environment in compliance with safety guidelines.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One to two years related experience with industrial sewing machines setup, trouble shooting, repairs, and maintenance.
• Bilingual English and Spanish a plus.
• Ability to understand safety requirements.
• Ability to perform the physical labor necessary
• Ability to effectively communicate with people at all levels.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Continually required to walk.
• Occasionally required to sit.
• Continually required to utilize hand and finger dexterity.
• Occasionally required to climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel or crawl
• Continually required to talk or hear.
• Frequently utilize visual acuity to operate equipment, read technical information, and/or use a keyboard. Occasionally required to lift/push/carry items less than 25 pounds / up to 25 pounds/ up to 50 pounds/ more than 50 pounds.
• Frequent work near moving mechanical parts.
• Occasionally work around airborne particles. Frequent exposure to extreme heat or cold (non-weather).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Grand Prairie, TX 75050: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)

Experience:

• Manufacturing: 1 year (Preferred)
