American Southwest Electric was established in 1993 -We have since grown and added several different divisions including the HVAC Division. By applying for this opportunity, you would become a part of the process in growing and expanding the Division.

We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Service Manager for our HVAC service company. Along with being a Service Manager we would like you to have the ability to assist in or estimating department when needed. There is also the possibility to oversee Construction Projects On site or as an Acting Superintendent representing the management level. The HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) Service Manager leads staff members who install, repair, and maintain heating and air conditioning systems in Residential and some commercial environments. This manager routinely works directly with service and install technicians, dispatch personnel and other managers to ensure customer satisfaction, while meeting departmental goals and objectives. Presenting themselves as a senior company representative, the HVAC Service Manager often communicates directly with customers, vendors, and suppliers to ensure accurate communication of job or project status and requirements.

PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:

The Manager directs daily operations of the Service Department by successfully performing the following tasks, duties and responsibilities while meeting deadlines:

Supervises and directs the technicians to effectively perform the functions of equipment commissioning, repair, installation, start-up, operation, warranty and more

Maintains communication with vendors and factory personnel concerning warranty issues, operational problems with products, premature failures, and other issues as they apply to products and equipment.

Reviews work orders, invoices, and time reports for accuracy

Specifies and makes sure that required parts are ordered in timely fashion to meet work schedule deadlines

Keeps technicians current with latest factory OEM training.

Manages start-up and commissioning on projects; coordinates and directs technicians and/or installing contractors; performs pre-start-up inspections.

Assist with estimation for upcoming projects. Must be able to read blueprints.

The Manager should possess the following skills, characteristics, and abilities:

  • Excellent customer service, communication, and relationship skills.
  • Management/Supervisory Role related experience.
  • Exhibit an in-depth knowledge and understanding of HVAC and air conditioning systems with the ability to read, interpret, utilize, and train on manuals, blueprints, schematics, and control circuits related to HVAC and refrigeration systems
  • Detail oriented and highly organized with the ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and assignments
  • Good computer skills: knowledge of and proficiency in common office applications such as MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Office 365, and general software navigation
  • Have a clean, neat, and professional appearance, who can instill pride of workmanship in themself and in others.

Job Requirements:

  • Attention to detail
  • Highly organized
  • Experience with Procore (a plus)
  • Ability to read and understand drawings, blueprints, and project specifications
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work with others
  • Mechanical background
  • Clean background as site visits to government properties will be required.

Education and Experience: ·

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least three years of related experience required.
