SUMMARY

Incumbents in this classification are responsible for providing support to the City's professional development and training functions. Duties include: event planning; data entry and recording of completed employee training and professional development; researching, facilitating, and supporting the creation of training presentations, handouts, and collating reference materials; and general administrative support for the Leadership and Professional Development (LPD) division of Human Resources. Works under general supervision.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The following duties are NOT intended to serve as a comprehensive list of all duties performed by all employees in this classification, only a representative summary of the primary duties and responsibilities.

  • Coordinates department Instructor Led Training (ILT) events to include (as needed): creation and maintenance of class rosters and RSVPs, sending invites and announcements, coordinating with presenters, preparation of slide decks and handouts, room set up and sign-in, ordering food/refreshments, and follow-up post-training.
  • Creates catalog entries into Oracle Learning as created by LPD department or upon submission from other departments, including creation of any requested evaluation materials.
  • Enters attendance and completion data for training events based on sign-in sheets.
  • Assigns training within Oracle Learning to designated City employees, both annually and as needed.
  • Creates and exports training completion reports on schedule and as requested for dissemination to departments.
  • Provides administrative support for biweekly NHO process, including new employee contacts, NHO preparation, setup and sign-in, entry of NHO completion into Oracle, and post-NHO follow-up.
  • Assists with creation of graphics, flyers, handouts, slide decks, videos, and other visual media for training offerings and advertisement.
  • Maintains department LPD calendar and submits entries to other calendars, as needed.
  • Assists with creation and maintenance of LPD division content (newsletter articles, website links, page content, handouts).
  • Provides research support to the division Director for purchase requisitions, presentations, and other projects.
  • Collects training needs intake as requested from the HR team and departments, logs all training requests, and forwards to the Director for follow-up.
  • Utilizes LPD division tracking methods to compile information related, but not limited to: training requests, training completion, active learners, and other data.
  • Serve as part of HR Office staff rotation with other HR Technicians for the purpose of front desk coverage and as needed support.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Associates Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field AND
Two (2) years of experience in training; OR
Any combination of equivalent experience and education to successfully perform the essential functions of the position.
Experience in event coordination, data entry, media design (graphics, audio/video) highly preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS : Positions in this class typically require: reaching, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
