ABOUT THE ROLE


Up2Us Sports is seeking a passionate sports-based youth development administrator to join our team. The Human Resources (HR) Manager will be responsible for the administration and coordination of many operational and human resources functions of the organization. This position will report to the National Director, People, Systems, & Culture. It is a remote position, but ideally, will be located in Chicago, New Orleans, or Philadelphia.

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Help to ensure the organization’s overall compliance with federal, state, and local legislation pertaining to personnel matters
  • Maintain current knowledge of industry trends and laws in all states of operation
  • Ensure all state registrations and tax accounts are current
  • Complete and submit claims to external agencies including workers’ compensation, unemployment insurance, and employment verification
  • Lead the annual open enrollment process for staff benefits
  • Serve as the lead administrator for benefits, which includes the management of enrollments, changes, terminations, and being the point person for all inquiries from staff members
  • Manage the 403(b) plan administrative portal and sync enrollments, changes, and terminations with payroll deductions
  • Play an integral role in the employee hiring process; post positions, screen candidates, draft offer letters, etc.
  • Lead the annual employee performance review process
  • Assist with staff on-boarding and off-boarding procedures
  • Ensure all personnel profiles are complete and current in BambooHR
  • Maintain the Employee Handbook and ensure it is accurate and current
  • Learn payroll procedures and serve as the secondary payroll administrator
  • Other HR Generalist duties as assigned by Chief Operating Officer and/or National Director, People, Systems, & Culture

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
  • A minimum of two years of administrative experience at a nonprofit or similar organization
  • Excellent computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Superb interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Superior attention to detail and strong time management skills
  • Experience working with AmeriCorps programs
  • Must be able to work on a team, but also be self-motivated; experience working with remote team members
  • A demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standards and a diverse workplace
  • A firm belief in the power of sports and coaching to inspire our nation’s youth

COMPENSATION

  • Salary Range: $55,000 to $62,000 per year
