POSITION SUMMARY:

Conduct day-to-day operations of the HR department including talent acquisition, employee onboarding, employee off boarding, employee verification, employee training and development, and performance management, talent management, employee relations and safety. Ensuring direct reports are coached and trained on their duties. Consistently demonstrate positive interpersonal relations with all levels of the organization and cooperate harmoniously with others in the accomplishment of the organization’s strategic goals. Make decisions in employee investigations, disciplinary matters/meetings, and terminations. Ensures compliance with state or federal requirements with provisions of ADA, FLSA, FMLA, OSHA, HIPPA, OWBPA , Leave Laws, Unemployment and internal policies to maintain compliance. Drive implementation and administration of human resource related initiatives including committee engagement, roundtable, awards/recognition, etc.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Maintain accurate, detailed, and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation and manage the HRIS system and database.
  • Process unemployment claims and verifications of employment. Track and submit unemployment claim responses. Work with mangers for needed documents to respond to the claim and attend hearings when needed.
  • Assist in year-end compensation process.
  • Work on job changes to assess job grade, salary range and classifications.
  • Work on benchmarking for compensation and benefits using company market data and surveys.
  • Prepare and post job adverts, screen applicants, arrange interviews, participate in the selection process, track applicants, and administer pre-employment testing.
  • Collaborates with hiring managers, anticipates, and responds to staffing needs ensuring operations and client services are maintained at all times.
  • Track and ensure all successful new hires are properly processed, background checks performed, and formal offer letters are produced and delivered in a timely manner in accordance with applicable rules, regulations, policies, and laws.
  • Maintain checklists for onboarding and new hire orientation, and perform onboarding tasks, such as employee eligibility verifications, collecting documentation required for employment, liaising to order the required supplies, scheduling trainings, and maintaining contact and other key HR information.
  • Manage sensitive and confidential matters, including employee relations and organizational changes, and protect the security of information, data.
  • Investigate and resolve all issues of employee relations.
  • Conduct exit interviews.
  • Conducts needs analysis studies and confers with managers and supervisors to determine training needs.
  • Compiles data and analyzes past and current year training requirements to prepare budgets and justify funds requested.
  • Formulates training programs, and schedules, based on knowledge of identified training needs, company production processes, business systems, or changes in products, procedures, or services.
  • Organizes and develops training manuals, reference library, testing and evaluation procedures, multimedia visual aids, and other educational materials.
  • Coach managers and employees on correct company policy interpretation.
  • Train supervisory personnel in effective techniques for training, employment law, interviewing techniques, effective supervision and management development.
  • Review, track, and document compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, including regulatory training, safety and business continuity training, anti-harassment training, cybersecurity protocols, etc.
  • Perform other job- related duties as assigned within the scope of business.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABLITIES AND COMPETENCES:

  • The ability to lead, coach and train as this role does have direct reports.
  • Demonstrated ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality without exception.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, or similar software.
  • Ability to travel for meetings at other locations, up to 1 week every month.
  • Experience with HRIS systems.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of five (5) years of HR experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related area of study
  • Knowledge of employment laws, practices, and government regulations.
  • Knowledge and/or leadership experience in multiple HR disciplines (i.e. organizational diagnosis, employee engagement, leadership development; strategic staffing; performance management; talent management; workforce effectiveness; succession planning; organizational development, design & effectiveness; legal compliance; rewards and recognition, etc.).
  • Solution-oriented mindset and work approach, with a willingness to contribute to many different types of tasks to get things done, even if they fall outside your normal scope of duties.
  • Well-organized, self-directed, strong customer service, organizational and time management skills.
  • Knowledge of state and federal wage and hour laws required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skill.

PREFRERRED QUALIFICATION:

  • Master’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related area of study.
  • PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP Certification
  • Perform routine support tasks required to administer and execute a human resource program, including but not limited to payroll administration, benefits administration, and leave tracking.
  • Administer benefits programs, including 401(k), health insurance, life and disability insurance, flexible spending plans, EAP, commuter benefits, and other programs, including but not limited to enrollment, broker communications, reconciliations, and troubleshooting on behalf of the team.
  • Ensures compliance with state or federal requirements with provisions of Short-Term and Long-Term Disability, ERISA, HIPPA, COBRA, ACA, FMLA, ADA, Workers Comp and internal policies.

Pay: $68,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
