PRIMARY FUNCTION: : The Human Resources Clerk fulfills and coordinates the day-to-day administrative operations of the Human Resource office for all locations, including internal customer service, data entry, reports and correspondence, benefit administration, recruiting through on-boarding, and provides administrative support to the Chief Human Resources Officer. Performs duties in alignment with the HR department’s standard operating procedures and the mission, vision and core values of the Community Clinic of Maui, Inc.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES :
    • First point of contact for employees and applicants; greets, orients, and answers basic HR-related questions and provides requested information and/or HR forms.
    • Accurately responds to routine inquiries and refers non-routine or higher-level inquiries and employee relations issues to the CHRO; refers payroll related question to the Payroll Specialist.
    • Collaborates with Audit and Grant coordination and other requests on a regular and ad hoc basis.
    • Confidentially administers and maintains accurate personnel records digitally and in hard copy as needed.
    • Supports employee recognition programs and clinic events.
    • Assists the CHRO with recruitment for all exempt and nonexempt personnel, students, interns, and temporary employees from job requisition and posting through on-boarding according to Standard Operating Procedures. Conducts new-employee orientations.
      • Duties include data base management of the applicant tracking and HRIS data base, scheduling and coordinating interviews, scheduling and coordinating on-boarding for newly hired staff, coordinating new employee orientation with dates, times, and locations, and coordination with the Administrative Services Coordinator for all new hires requiring credentialing.
      • Assists with off-boarding and related communication and data entry.
    • Maintains company employee roster, new hire, transfer/change of status and terminations, monthly birthday report, and off-boarding records and logs and other records and reports as assigned and requested.
    • Maintains and performs data entry to human resource information system (HRIS) records and compiles reports from the database on a scheduled and ad hoc basis.
    • Collaborates with the payroll process for employee transactions.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

      • Read and watch safety & health videos, and adhere to all policies and procedures in Safety and Health Guidebook.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:
    • High School Diploma or GED
    • SHRM or HRCI certification a plus and/or Human Resources coursework.
Experience:
    • Experience in clerical recordkeeping in a confidential environment; HR experience a plus.
    • Experience and familiarity with our diverse population.

Skills/Competencies:
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Computer literate and accurate in Microsoft Office and Outlook.
    • Provide excellent internal customer services with our staff in words and actions that demonstrate our mission, vision, and core values.
    • Willingness to assist co-workers.
    • Ability to type at least 40 words per minute accurately.
    • Excellent attention to detail.

Other requirements:
TB Clearance within the past 12 months
Proof of COVID-19 Vaccination as required by federal mandate or ability to provide acceptable medical or religious exemption.:
