Overview

The Benefits Assistant provides administrative and customer service support to employees of DFCI with a focus on benefits but could include inquiries from other areas of Human Resources.

This job is fully remote however, candidates must reside in and work full-time from one of the New England states (ME, VT, NH, MA, CT, RI).

Responsibilities

  • Administers the day-to-day administration of employee benefits programs such as medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability and other benefits.
  • Assist employees on eligibility, coverage, claims issues and other matters related to benefits.
  • Maintains electronic records and documents.
  • Conducts New Hire Orientation Benefits presentations.
  • Assists in the communication of benefits, including annual open enrollment.
  • Complete employment verification forms
  • Triage employees questions to other departments with in HR as needed.
  • Assists with projects.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma
  • 1 year of experience in benefits, human resources support or other administrative support role

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Excellent customer service skills; strong oral and written communication skills
  • Good judgement and ability to work autonomously
  • Strong ability to analyze information and remedy discrepancies
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word), PeopleSoft, and ability to assimilate vendor and other systems
  • Attention to detail, organized, and a thoroughness in completing the work
  • Ability to juggle multiple tasks and priorities within tight timelines, and have follow through skills
  • Ability to build working relationships within and across teams
