Purpose
To provide departmental human resource services to assigned customers and staff.
Responsibilities
  • Process all Workday transactions pertaining to assigned customers including recruiting, human capital management, and time and absence business processes. Initiate pay and compensation business processes, including compensation changes as well as overtime, comp time and separation payments, in a timely manner and monitor approvals to ensure completion prior to payroll deadlines.
  • Serve as timekeeper for assigned customers. Review time reports to ensure adherence with all university policies as well as departmental practices such as on-call or event work. Run Workday reports to ensure completion of time reports within the appropriate periods. Work with customer administrative support to resolve time report issues.
  • Comply with all federal, state, and university laws and policies related to human capital. Initiate background checks, I-9s, and employee onboarding. Monitor progress and work with employees to ensure completion within the appropriate periods.
  • Provide service to customer departments in a timely, courteous, and professional manner. Manage customer relationships through effective communications including factual and current information.
  • Cross train and provide backup assistance for other transactional staff. Escalate complex human resource matters to HR Services Manager. Collaborate with HR Quality Assurance Coordinator and Employee Relations Manager to meet departmental objectives.
  • Consult central Human Resources, Payroll Services, and Workday support as needed.
  • Complete assigned professional development activities, including human resource and Workday trainings. Stay abreast of policy and procedure changes.
  • Other related functions as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in human resource management, business administration, social sciences, public administration or a related field and two years of experience in human resources administration or related field. Experience using a personal computer and Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Motivation to work positively within a dynamic team environment in support of organizational objectives. Excellent oral and written communication skills and professional demeanor. Ability to focus on details, work under pressure, meet deadlines and operate successfully in a multi-task environment and as part of a team.
Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience processing HR transactions in Workday. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
Salary Range
$50,000 + depending on qualifications
Working Conditions
This position provides a work-life balance that includes flexible work arrangements, including a combination of in-person work in an office on campus and remote work within the Central Texas area.
