Position Information

There is one vacancy with the Department of Community Services, WorkHawaii, Operations Branch, Housing Assistance Programs Section, located at 680 Iwilei Road, Suite 700. Under the general supervision of the Community Specialist IV, the primary purpose of the Housing Assistance Specialist III is to provide moderate to complex housing assistance services focusing on the location of affordable, sustainable housing options that meet HUD standards for clients enrolled in the Housing Assistance Programs. The position will carry out these duties in the primary office and at job sites island-wide.

Minimum Qualification Requirements

EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:
Substantially equivalent to graduation from an accredited four-year college or university.

Two (2) years of professional work experience which involved interviewing clients to elicit information; verifying and analyzing the information obtained; and determining clients' needs and/or entitlements based on the application of pertinent principles, practices, policies, standards, and/or guidelines, one (1) year of which shall have been in determining eligibility for public or social assistance programs (e.g., housing or rental assistance).
