Position Summary

The Housekeeping Supervisor will support the Hotel Manager in all capacities to ensure effective and efficient operations of the day–to–day operations of all housekeeping and laundry functions. Responsible to coordinate the hotel housekeeping team, inspect rooms & public areas to enforce standards of cleanliness, ensure adherence to SOPs, and assist with updating and maintaining SOP’s. Ensure team member safety and proper ergonomic practices, assist with training and coaching room attendants and laundry team members, and work to achieve hotel objectives.


Responsibilities & Essential Job Functions

  • Effectively communicates with guests, team members and other departments.
  • Oversee the daily operations of housekeeping & laundry so all rooms are cleaned and inspected prior to guest check-in.
  • Plan, assign and coordinate room boards and activities for room attendants.
  • Coordinate daily housekeeping staffing needs based on business volume and workload.
  • Lead pre-shift team member meetings.
  • Manage Lost-and-Found items, inquiries, returns and shipping & billing process.
  • Maintain inventories of amenities, cleaning supplies & linen stock to ensure adequate stock quantities and reorders are placed in a timely manner.
  • Establish, implement and improve best practices, operating procedures and standards.
  • Monitor and motivate the housekeeping & laundry team to ensure high levels of productivity.
  • Assists with team member recruitment, hiring, and training qualified housekeeping team members.
  • Recommend counseling and potential disciplinary action for housekeeping team members.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Job Specifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Required to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays as required
  • General computer skills, Email, Microsoft Office, general PMS familiarity

Physical Demands

  • Able to stand for long periods of time and able to walk long distances (within building).
  • Able to occasionally exert 50 pounds of force.
  • Able to lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Able to reach over your head and able to stoop or kneel to ground.
