What does it mean to make an impression? You make an impression by making an impact in our community with the residents. Your presence when you enter the room is vital. Instead of just announcing you are there to clean their room, you say good morning, ask the resident what their plans are for the day. Look around the room at their pictures, etc. and start a conversation with them. Letting a resident know you care about them makes a huge impression. We also want you to have fun, yes we said have fun. Your job is tough, but having fun makes it fulfilling. When you do that, the responsibilities you are about to read are much easier to accomplish. So what are those responsibilities? The Housekeeper is responsible for thoroughly cleaning resident rooms and common areas using company cleaning techniques and quality standards to help provide a safe quality environment for residents and most of all HAVE FUN!!!!!!!!!!!

Essential Functions:

  • Thoroughly clean each resident apartment once a week, as schedule. Cleaning techniques and quality standards will be as instructed by Supervisor, Executive Director and company policy to include but not limited to vacuuming, dusting, and removing resident trash.
  • Clean other areas of community on a routine or as-needed basis, as instructed and requested by Supervisor.
  • Perform other duties as requested by the Executive Director or Supervisor.

Requirements:

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Must interact and demonstrate compassion and caring toward seniors.
  • Must demonstrate exemplary work ethics.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must be able to lift, carry, push and pull 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to move about the facility quickly and be able to physically assist residents and/or staff in event of emergency.
  • Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English for safety reasons and to properly, clearly, and compassionately communicate with residents, families, co-workers, etc.
  • Must have the ability to work rotating shifts as needed and to work at times, days or positions other than those scheduled.


Preferences:

  • Prior commercial or residential care housekeeping experience (hospital, hotel, healthcare, etc.)
