Revenue/Reservations Manager

This role is responsible for both strategic and tactical initiatives related to revenue maximization. As a member of the Revenue Management Department, you will have the opportunity to set strategic direction, determine pricing, create promotions, and explore new distribution opportunities.

You will own the implementation of a business plan and product strategy. You will have exposure to senior management and work closely with DOSM,GM, Reservations, and front desk.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee revenue management and distribution strategy of the hotel and manage day-to-day yield operations.
  • Daily pick-up analysis, strategy adjustments and reporting.
  • Perform competitive benchmark studies and follow market trends.
  • Create and maintain a 12-month rolling demand calendar.
  • Create and develop pricing strategies in conjunction with the individuality of the property
  • Provide a weekly dynamic forecast of expected results, variances and budget comparisons.
  • Manage and oversee strategy for all 3rd party distribution
  • Responsible for assessing, analyzing and pricing group business strategies
  • Analyze overall monthly hotel performance and provide a summary report with recommendations to improve long-term strategies.
  • Ensure all related systems are configured correctly, validated and working to full capacity
  • Oversee and audit the standards and operations of the reservations department.
  • Ensure web site booking process is maintained up-to-date and functional.
  • Ensure hotel personnel is fully competent in the use of all systems
  • Work in liaison with Sales and reservations department.
  • Oversee the reservations department and ensure front desk are aware of all rates
  • Regularly check the input and the quality of data (segmentation, denials tracking, etc.…) points.
  • Responsible for best practice standards to include competitor analysis; environmental scanning; market modelling; distribution yield management; business mix yield management; length of stay yield management; inventory availability by channel; pricing control and new pricing concepts
  • Evaluate the performance of distribution partners and contracted rates (OTA, corporate, consortia, groups, etc.…).
  • Reduce the cost of distribution by finding new less expensive means of delivering business
  • Prepare an outline for and support the annual revenue budget process.
  • Conduct monthly 90 forecasts
  • Attend daily AM Operation meetings
  • Create weekly transient and group pick up reports for meetings
  • Conduct weekly Revenue Management meeting and provide reports for DOSM & GM
  • Perform any other duties assigned by DOSM & GM
  • Report directly to DOSM
  • Responsible to loading of all rates in PMS and central reservations system
  • Responsible for completing and loading all RFP’s as directed by DOSM & GM

Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Business or another related field preferred.

To be successful in this role, ideal candidate will have 2-4 years of successful revenue management experience at a multi-property level.

Candidate must have excellent analytical skills and must fully comprehend the travel industry distribution landscape. This includes third party channels, GDS, central reservation systems, and property management systems.

Strong verbal and interpersonal skills are imperative as the candidate will interact remotely with hotels, interact frequently with corporate brand representation, and will coach direct reports on revenue management best practices. Candidate must be able to effectively communicate ideas in verbal and written presentations.

The right person for this position will have a demonstrated ability to lead initiatives and show skills in follow up, multi-tasking, leadership, and accountability for team actions.
