UW Medical Center - Northwest has an outstanding opportunity for a HOSPITAL CENTRAL SERVICES SUPERVISOR, FULL-TIME DAYS . Under the direction of the Supply Chain Manager, the Hospital Central Services Supervisor organizes workflow, oversees day-to-day operations, and manages personnel, equipment, and supplies to ensure efficient functioning, quality services, and cost effectiveness of assigned sections within the Supply Chain Management Department, which includes: Purchasing, Logistics, Operations and Supply Chain integration with Surgical Services. Manages assigned staff, peripheral delivery and service systems. Functions as an integral member of the Supply Chain Management Leadership team.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Establishes methods and work performance standards

Implements policies and procedures; ensures compliance for outside review

Ensures clean techniques are utilized by staff

Prepares productivity reports of the unit; oversees preventive maintenance program for equipment

Recommends changes in budget such as staffing needs and supply requisition

Performs microbiological tests for sterility check on all sterilizing equipment, including operation of water distillery for irrigating solutions

Supervises personnel engaged in decontaminating, assembling, packaging and sterilizing linens, dressings, treatment trays, emergency drug trays, and related items

Reviews inventory status reports; adjusts reorder levels as necessary; submits requisitions for supplies

Maintains Quality Assurance records and billing records

Conducts in-service training programs

May batch charge documents and send to billing

May perform the duties of a Hospital Central Services - Lead

Performs related duties as required

REQUIREMENTS:

Completion of a recognized Central Supply Technician course AND three years of technical experience involving sterilization of surgical trays, medical supplies, equipment and instruments in a hospital or institution central medical supply unit

OR

High school graduation or equivalent AND four years of experience processing complex trays of surgical instruments and equipment

OR

Equivalent education/experience
