We are adding a Nurse Practitioner to our Demopolis team!

Here at Legacy Hospice, we hire highly talented and uniquely qualified nurses to provide exceptional care to their patients. Our hospice nurses collaborate with patients, their families, and other healthcare professionals to provide essential and quality care during the final stages of patients’ lives. It is the expectation of Legacy Hospice that our employees communicate with compassion and empathy with their patients, families, and to the communities we serve.

Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing and accredited Nurse Practitioner Program.
  • Current nursing licensure in State and CPR certification.
  • Master's degree with a minimum of (1) year Nurse Practitioner experience and a minimum of (1) year hospice or palliative care experience.
  • Accreditation from an approved certifying body for advanced practice nursing as required by State.
  • Certification in a specialist area preferred; (e.g. Hospice and Palliative Nursing (CHPN), Pediatrics or Geriatrics)
  • Excellent observation, verbal and written communication skill, problem solving skills, mathematical skills; nursing skills per competency checklist.
  • Prolonged or considerable walking or standing. Able to lift, position and / or transfer patients. Able to lift supplies and equipment. Considerable reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling and/or crouching. Visual acuity and hearing to perform required nursing skills.
  • Must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state/or organization requirements and is in good working order.

Once you join the Legacy family, you will proceed with our training program along with support and resources from our leadership team.

Within the first month, you will:

  • Get to know your team and become acclimated to the hospice philosophy.
  • Complete online training with your team.
  • Shadow your team members to learn more about hands on hospice care.
  • Your team member will then ride with you while you visit patients to allow opportunity to ask questions while you work.
  • After a month of New Hire training, you will be ready to case manage your own patients!

We allow a flexible onboarding schedule to allow you to move at a pace that you are comfortable with. At any time during training, you have any questions, always feel free to ask your Branch Administrator or team members.
