Pan American Berry Growers, a People First Company and leader in the Blueberry growing and packing Industry. with its corporate office and packing facility based in Salem, Oregon, is seeking a full-time, collaborative, motivated, and experienced farm operations manager to join our team and manage our 200-acre conventional Blueberry farm in Salem, Oregon.

As an integral part of our company, this position is responsible for managing all farming activities for our Salem farm, including but not limited to Blueberry growing activities, such as pesticide and fertilization applications, irrigation system management, pruning, and all harvest activities and help to coordinate with our small group of partner growers. The Farm Manager plans organizes and directs the activities of our farming team members to achieve the company’s goals of producing the highest quality Blueberries, while maximizing yields and efficiency, in an expanding people and acreage environment.

Duties Include:
  • Hands-on responsibility for the development and maintenance of all growing systems.
  • Formulates farm operation schedules, communicate schedules to supervisors and ensures optimum timely operations, while meeting the high standards of growing quality Blueberries in a safe and professional environment.
  • Provides leadership, direction, and oversight to our farm team while working towards achieving the company’s goals and helping to maintain performance and order in an environment of ever-changing priorities.
  • Works directly with the CEO, Director of Operations, and fellow Leadership Team to ensure implementation of all regulatory compliance, including people safety, food safety, and other compliance goals.
  • Provide direction and oversight for replacement, and new, planting development.
  • Assures and promotes effective communication between departments, and key personnel. Provides ongoing and
  • timely collaboration and input to the CEO, Director of Operations, and Co-Leadership Team members.

Our ideal candidate must possess the following skills, experience, and education:
  • Positive, Passionate and enthusiastic about Horticulture and an understanding of producing safe Blueberries for
  • consumers.
  • A degree in agronomy or a closely related field or a minimum of five years of farm management experience.
  • PC-based computer skills and learning ability for Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint, as well as other customer software platforms.
  • Excellent communication, record-keeping, and time-management skills.
  • Experience in leading, motivating, and delegating while putting People first.
  • Works well under pressure, managing multiple priorities while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Bi-lingual is desired and a very strong plus.
  • A clean driving record is mandatory.
