Work Schedule
- Part-time (20-25 hours)
- 4-hour shifts
- Daytime shifts
Responsibilities
- Provide continuous companionship for the client while on duty
- Adhere to the client’s plan of care, and follow agency policies & procedures
- Assist with activities of daily living, including hygiene, showering, dressing, eating, and basic meal prep
- Assist client with ambulating, positioning, toileting/incontinence care, laundry, light housekeeping, transportation, and personal care shopping
- Provide medication reminders and supervise the self-administration of medication
- Observe the client’s physical, emotional, and mental condition and report changes to the Administrator
- Document all tasks in the agency's proprietary software
- Ensure required documents are kept visible in the client’s home
- Ensure services are provided in a safe and professional manner
- Comply with standard HIPAA policy and guidelines.
- Maintains strict confidentiality of client, family, and caregiver information
- Understand and respect clients’ rights and responsibilities
- Must adhere to company safety and COVID protocols
Qualifications
- One year of full-time personal care experience in a facility or in-home through an agency
- Dementia care experience
- Competency to assist with client needs and job requirements
- Experience handling infection control and emergencies
- Sympathetic attitude toward care, and maturity with the ability to effectively perform the job
- Good verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Pass background/criminal history and State of Texas Employability checks
- Minimum 18 years old
- Ability to lift 25 pounds, and perform tasks that require bending and standing
- CPR and First Aid certifications are required. May be obtained prior to the start date
- Ability to follow instructions and procedures
