Compensation:

  • Hourly Pay: $20.13

Note: Salary can vary depending upon education, experience, or qualifications.

Position Summary:

Historic Preservation Specialist II

This employee works independently and with various staff teams to coordinate the review and compliance programs of the State Historic Preservation Office under the state preservation statute (KSA 75-2724) and the federal law for the protection of historic properties (36 CFR Part 800). As an experienced architectural historian, this employee is one of the staff experts on architectural history and review of projects using the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for Rehabilitation. The employee will also assist with other program areas, including preparation of National Register nominations and review of tax credit applications through team interaction. This employee provides excellent customer service in dealing with property owners, government officials, developers, consultants, preservationists, and others.
