    Job Goal:

    To provide information and services to assist students in making educational, occupational, and life plans that will allow students to reach their potential for academic growth. To increase student success through continous improvement of culture and climate in regards to social emotional needs.

    Essential Requirements:

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to execute each requirement satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability needed for this position.

    • Master's Degree and full Oregon State licensure, with endorsement in school counseling at the High School level.
    • Ability to demonstrate standards of moral character and behavior to serve as an effective role model for students
    • Ability to work harmoniously with others and to communicate effectively (both orally and in writing) with students, parents, teachers and community members
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality when dealing with student, staff and/or parent information
    • Ability to communicate with individuals of varied cultural and educational backgrounds
    • Ability to work effectively in an environment which can be both physically and emotionally fatiguing
    • Such alternative to the above requirements as the School Board or the Administration may deem appropriate and acceptable

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may also be assigned):

    • Scheduling
    • Update/Create Course Catalog
    • Forecasting with students
    • Creating Master Schedule
    • Review all student schedules for accuracy and that students are placed in appropriate courses
    • Make changes to student schedules
    • Scheduling new students and transcribing transfer credits
    • Responsible for transcript accuracy, verifying graduating students have met all graduation requirements
    • Working with Aspire Program
    • Administering ACT, SAT, and AP Tests
    • Responsible for 504’s
    • Attend IEP meetings as necessary
    • Participation in Scholarship Night
    • Counseling students as needed and making appropriate referrals as necessary
    • Providing support in social emotional needs to individuals and groups
    • Assisting with crisis response
    • Working with Department of Youth Services and coordinating plans with their clients
    • Working with Department of Human Services and cases of abuse and coordinating services
    • Encourages students to set and maintain appropriate standards of school behavior
    • Attends meetings and serves on committees as directed
    • Perform such other tasks (which may require knowledge of other job descriptions) as may seem to be appropriate to the Board or Administration.
    Preferred Licenses, Registrations, Bonding and/or Testing Required:

    1. Pre-employment drug screening required
    2. Possess a valid First Aid card, if required
    3. Possess a valid Oregon Driver’s License, if required
    4. Blood borne Pathogens Training/Hepatitis B Shot Series Training, if required
    5. SafeSchools Training as required
    6. COVID-19 Vaccination record, or approved medical or religious exception

    Commences: August 2023
    Annual Salary Range: $43,260.00 - $74,362.00
    1 FTE
