Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Compliance Consultant

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. No sponsorship is available for this position.

Ramboll is seeking motivated and inquisitive candidates for early to mid-level career positions with Ramboll’s Health, Safety & Environmental Compliance Practice, based in our Syracuse, Rochester, Albany, or Utica, New York offices. The position would support projects throughout New York State and Northeast Region. The ideal candidate will possess the health & safety related technical skills and experience required to lead, support and execute HSE compliance projects; willingness to support and develop business development skills; and the interpersonal and communication skills to enhance existing client and regulator relationships.

You will join our Ramboll Environment & Health department

As our new HSE Compliance Consultant, you will be part of our interdisciplinary team in the Americas, engaging with other business and technical professionals. You will work with all levels of technical expertise, from entry level team members to members with decades of experience, many of whom are subject matter experts in their own fields. You will engage in a continual learning environment through coaching, mentoring, and on the job tasks.

Your key tasks and responsibilities will include:

  • Experience to conduct regulatory compliance reviews for various EHS programs (focus on H&S)
  • Manage the technical (H&S), schedule and budgetary elements of projects
  • Provide regular and consistent communications to clients, regulators and project staff on key issues and developments
  • Maintain regular contact with clients and develop proposals for H&S compliance related work
  • Arrange on-site Health & Safety compliance support at client facilities, including H&S auditing and plan/report preparation
  • Complete project task, conduct training, field coaching, and assessment for safety performance improvement
  • Gain and share knowledge through participation in technical societies and/or attendance at internal and external programs, to a degree consistent with individual and divisional goals
  • Be a leader in our safety culture, ensuring that our employees work safely

  • Minimum B.S. degree in a relevant discipline (Industrial Hygiene, Safety, or closely related discipline).
  • 8+ years experience, with experience in consulting/compliance industry.
  • Relevant certification, such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) or ability and on track to pursue certifications.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of occupational Health & Safety regulations and industry best practices. For example, experience in presenting at conferences and industry events.
  • Ability to travel locally approximately 20% per month. Travel is typically of short duration (combination of office, remote, in-plant) depending on project needs. Driver’s license and air travel required.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Knowledge and familiarity with federal and state H&S regulations Ramboll will provide training in applicable environmental regulations as necessary.

At Ramboll, your base pay is only part of your overall total compensation package. At the time of this posting, this role is likely to be compensated at an annual base salary between $70,000 and $85,000. Actual pay may be more or less than the posted range, depending on numerous factors, including experience, geographical location, internal equity, market conditions, education/training and skill level, and does not include bonuses, overtime, or other forms of compensation or benefits.
