Government Regional Manager

As a Government Regional Manager ( Gov RM) , you will engage and support Acumed’s Direct and ISC field sales team in the government space, specifically within the Veteran’s Administration, Indian Health Services and DoD US Military Treatment Facilities CONUS (Continental US). This position requires experience in the government contract process, knowledge of government contracts such as ECAT, ECAT JIT, FSS, VA National IDIQ and experience within medical device sales. You must have and maintain a strong network of medical professionals, surgical suite personnel and influencers including materials management and contracting offices.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Carry out, execute, and adjust to flexible short and long-term strategic plans aimed at expanding current business while targeting whitespace opportunities.
  • Lead RBM and ICS field procurement ongoing trainings and field-based support.
  • Support the development a key opinion leader (KOLs) and residency programs in Acumed’s government network.
  • Work with national and local distribution partners/organizations, Prime Vendors, SDVOSBs, SBVO, Ability One, small business resellers and strategic partners to drive product penetration.
  • Support federal pricing and RFQ management opportunities.
  • Travel (up to 60%) makes regular visits to assigned Fed/Gov accounts, supports field sales team, and attends government specific trade/training events, national Acumed trade shows with a government presence and to attend company meetings/trainings as per request.
  • Program demands necessitate demonstrated critical thinking, problem solving, decision making and influential leadership characteristics.

Qualifications

  • Preferred Certification and or expertise in Defense/Federal Life Cycle Logistics, Program Management, Organizational Design, or related field(s)
  • A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience within Government medical device, Ortho/Trauma market and or time spent in a surgical hospital suite.
  • Three years leveraging government contracts and procurement methodologies with an understanding of the “bill only” and stocking order process.
  • Experience in leveraging contracts such as: ECAT, ECAT JIT, FSS, the VA National IDIQ and local SDVOSB BPA contracts.
  • 2-3 years successfully selling into DoD & VA medical facilities.
  • Knowledge of and able to gain base access for DoD military treatment facilities with sponsorship if needed.
  • Preferred Reserves or retired military with medical experience (MOS/AFSC)
  • Preferred DoD base access ID Card
  • Experience in a government contract, procurement, subject matter expertise and or acquisition supporting role with a comprehensive understanding of the congressional budget cycle and government contracting process.
  • Strong network of relevant influencers within the DoD and VHA contract offices and medical communities. Preferred that you also have HHS/IHS networks.
  • Strong understanding of orthopedic procedures, prefer registration as Healthcare Professional: RN, PA, NP, other.
  • Strong knowledge of government contracting and processes.
  • Ability to work with limited supervision.

Target Compensation: $139,348.99 – $170,315.43, base and/or commission.
