About the role:
Boston Scientific believes that to grow our business, we must grow our people. The Director, Global Talent Management will be responsible for the development and execution of Boston Scientifics talent development and engagement strategy centered on enhancing the overall employee experience. The primary purpose of this leadership role and their team is to be the owner and designer of agile talent programs and initiatives leveraged at an enterprise level. As a key thought leadership role, this leader will need to be in-tune with best practices and leading-edge thinking both within and outside of BSC. There will be a key partnership with the business Talent Management teams who have the primary responsibility to be the partnering interface with each business HR team. In addition, a key element of this role will be to manage stakeholder engagement across other COE’s and HR leadership.



Your responsibilities will include:

  • Partner with Human Resources Business Partners, business leaders and HR Centers of Excellence to develop proactive talent management strategies in anticipation of critical business goals, seeking input on all strategy and design decisions.
  • Strategically design and drive adoption of impactful core talent processes, including talent assessment, talent development, succession planning, leadership development, organizational development and change, transformation and organization design and performance management.
  • Leadership oversight to provide a robust learning structure for all employee and people development strategies.
  • Create and implement a community of excellence to support the company’s growth, with a focus on sharing and leveraging best practices around the regions in performance management, organizational development, leadership development, talent retention and talent engagement.
  • Lead, implement and measure the effectiveness of an employee listening strategy to drive engagement strategies that enhance the employee experience.
  • Evaluate the current performance management framework and implement enhancements to reinforce our values and operating principles.
  • Partner with the Change Community of Practice to provide thought leadership on change management processes across the business, to drive sustainable, impactful, measurable results which improve the employee experience. Develop and deliver impactful change leadership support including education, communication and training to key stakeholders ensuring a consistent and positive change experience for employees.
  • Partner with the TAI and TA teams to develop greater automation and reporting on key talent organizational health metrics including talent movement, acceleration, succession depth and diverse representation. Demonstrate the linkage between organizational and talent development and human capital return-on-investment.
  • Develop talent strategies and analytics that support and accelerate the mobility of talent across the enterprise.
  • Champion diversity, equity and inclusion within the Talent Management processes.
  • Play an active role on the Global Talent Management leadership team.
  • Provide thought leadership and guidance on organizational design and change leadership practices.
  • Demonstrate the linkage between organizational development and human capital return-on-investment.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree plus 10 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Advanced degree in a HR, TM, OD or other related fields is an advantage.

Preferred Experience:

  • Given the level of collaboration across the enterprise, the person in this role will have demonstrated knowledge and experience in working across regions, divisions and functions with an understanding of the different business environments and cultural norms.
  • Demonstrated thought leadership and passion for championing new ideas and approaches in talent management with a focus on driving continuous improvement through rigorous evaluation.
  • Designed and executed talent management strategies which resulted in significant business impact.
  • Demonstrated accountability, visibility, and continuous improvement in talent management activities through the use of effective metrics and analytical insights.
  • Lead directly and through others, the management of large and complex talent programs and projects where the scope has been global or across multiple businesses and/or countries.
  • Experience in leading and developing a high performing team.
  • Experience of designing tools, programs and processes and/or consulting with HR teams and business leaders in the areas of Talent Review and Succession Planning, Performance Management, Change Management, Organizational Development, Enterprise Talent Movement, Coaching & Exec Assessments, Employee Engagement, Org/Team design & effectiveness and Enterprise Learning & Development.
  • Commitment to self-development and a demonstrated passion for staying current on external talent and workforce trends.
