GIS Technician Job at Comcentric
We are currently seeking a GIS Data Technician for a fully REMOTE opportunity working out of the mountain time zone. This is for a temporary 6+ month assignment (with potential for extension or Conversion). This is for a top telecom company and a Fortune 200 company.
***Must be U.S. Citizen or Green Card Holder to be considered**
Responsibilities:
- Performs geographic and non-geographic data manipulation, management and analysis, cartography, and utilizes GIS processes using a variety of software environments.
- Gathers, analyzes, and integrates spatial data and determine how best the information can be displayed using GIS.
- Enters new map data through use of GIS software using the principles of cartography including coordinate systems, longitude, latitude, elevation, topography, and map scales.
An Ideal candidate has some of the following technical skills:
- Experience with GIS software (ArcGIS, MapInfo, or other GIS applications)
- Working knowledge of geospatial and mapping concepts such as spatial analysis, map projections, etc.
- SQL
- Data Analysis experience
- GE Small World
- Toad
- CAD
- FME
- Alteryx
- Experience with other Spatial Databases
